How eMedApps Got Its Start

How did eMedApps get its start? We started in 1999 with a vision to offer healthcare entities smarter, faster, and easier I.T. solutions to improve patient care.

We sought to connect entities in the health care industry with an innovative integration engine. After many weeks of Domino’s pizza in Imran’s basement and presentations to Venture Capital firms, it became apparent that many facilities had yet to make the move to Electronic Health Records. While we continued to build the Integration Engine we started to focus our efforts on first helping clinics select, implement and use EHR/PM systems.

In our early days, we were doing everything from running Ethernet cables to configuring servers and customizing the EHR system to training users on EHR and billing workflows. (We developed a killer Olympic worthy technique for throwing Ethernet cables across the top of drop ceilings.) As we graduated from running cables to providing support for EHR systems to these clinics we identified areas where additional optimization tools could enhance the EHR systems and make them more efficient. Those tools became the basis of our suite of EHR products.

That integration engine is now eMedApps’ CareBridge which our clients use for connecting their EHRs to HIE’s, devices to their EHR, connecting to labs, hospitals, for CCDA’s, for pharmacy connections, etc.

We are privileged to have helped hundreds of clinics, CHC’s, FQHC’s, and hospitals. We are committed to continuing to provide the health care industry with smarter, faster, and easier I.T. solutions, resulting in better patient care.
