The 2019 MIPS (Merit-based Incentive Payment System) reporting period is finally coming to an end! Let’s discuss a few things we need to take care for the end of the year to assure reporting goes smoothly after the New Year.
- Verify Reporting Logins. Make sure you know how you are reporting and that you can login to all reporting portals so there is no delay when you are able to submit information. This may be through a specialized registry, your EHR or the QPP site itself.
- Check Final Eligibility for 2019 Reporting. CMS is releasing the final clinician eligibility for 2019 in December. Login to the QPP site to verify what clinicians in your practice are eligible to report MIPS this year so you do not miss reporting for anyone and risk a payment adjustment in 2021.
- Review your MIPS Audit Binder. Make sure you have all of your documentation for Yes/No measures and exclusions.
I personally like to get all of this done by early December so I don’t have to worry about anything except monitoring reports. We know December is a crazy month all around for practices so anything you can get done before then is a win. As always, we are always here to help if you have any questions!
