Referral Coordinators: This one’s for you!

Health Information Exchanges (HIE) took the health care world by storm a few years ago and professionals have been trying to find the workflow that makes the most sense. For all of my NextGen users, this is your NextGen Share. I know we all have had our fair share of battles this with workflow, since it is centralized around the provider. Practice’s with referral coordinators have actually opted not to use the HIE because the workflow was extremely time consuming. However, NextGen heard you and they have released an HIE workflow for the staff!

The Medical Summary Utility now has connectivity to NextGen Share! This means that referral coordinators can search for providers through the NextGen Share and send referrals electronically without going to the provider templates in the chart. Staff around the NextGen community is signing praises to this workflow because it has lessened the burden times 1000 on the users.
